ALZHEIMERS' EYE TEST

Test your brain. This is really cool!!! ALZHEIMERS' EYE TEST
Count every ' F ' in the following text: "FINISHED FILES ARE THE RESULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTI FIC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS" HOW MANY DID YOU GET? 3 ?? WRONG, THERE ARE 6 -- no joke. READ IT AGAIN !Really, go Back and Try to find the 6 F's before you scroll down. The reasoning behind this is - The brain cannot process 'OF'. Incredible or what? Go back and look again!! Anyone who counts all 6 'F's' on the first go is a genius.3 is normal, 4 is quite rare.

The Einstein Puzzle – Who Owns the Fish?

The Einstein Puzzle – Who Owns the Fish?
ARE YOU IN THE TOP 2% OF INTELLIGENT PEOPLE IN THE WORLD? SOLVE THE RIDDLE AND FIND OUT. There are 5 houses in 5 different colors. In each house lives a man with a different nationality. The 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar, nor drink the same beverage. The Brit lives in the red house. The Swede keeps dogs as pets. The Dane drinks tea. The green house is on the left of the white house. The green house's owner drinks coffee. The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds. The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill. The man living in the center house drinks milk. The Norwegian lives in the first house. The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats. The man who keeps the horse lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill. The owner who smokes Bluemasters drinks beer. The German smokes Prince. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house. The man who smokes Blends has a neighbor who drinks water. Who owns the fish? It is said that Albert Einstein wrote this Logic Puzzle quiz. As the Legend goes, Dr. Einstein said that 98% of the world could not figure it out. He believed only 2% of all humans had the ability to solve his puzzle. Are you smart enough to be one of the few? (No Cheating and No Googling [:)])

Beautifulll and Very Brilliant answers to the Challenge!!!!!!!

Beautifulll and Very Brilliant answers to the Challenge!!!!!!!
The university professor challenged his students with this question. "Did God create everything that exists?" A student bravely replied, "Yes, He did!" "God created everything?" The professor asked. "Yes sir", the student replied. The professor answered, "If God created everything, then God created evil since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are then God is evil". The student became quiet before such an answer. The professor was quite pleased with him self and boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth. Another student raised his hand and said, "Can I ask you a question professor?" "Of course", replied the professor. The student stood up and asked, "Professor does cold exist?" "What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?" The students snickered at the young man's question. The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-460 degrees F) is the total absence of heat; all matter becomes inert and incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have no heat." The student continued, "Professor, does darkness exist?" The professor responded, "Of course it does." The student replied, "Once again you are wrong sir, darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact, we can use Newton's prism to break white light into colors to study the various wavelengths of each color. You can not measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn't this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present." Finally the young man asked the professor, "Sir, does evil exist?" Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course as I have already said. We see it every day. It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil." To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is not like faith, or love that exist just as does light and heat. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light." The professor sat down. The young man's name: Albert Einstein

Immortal cells - An extraordinary Wonder Woman:

Immortal cells - An extraordinary Wonder Woman: There is only one known case of a person having immortal cells (cells that can divide indefinitely outside of the human body, defying the Hayflick Limit) and that is of a woman named Henrietta Lacks. In 1951, 31 year old Henrietta Lacks was diagnosed with cervical cancer, which she died from within the year. Unknown to her and her family (i.e. without informed consent) a surgeon took a tissue sample from her tumor that was passed on to a Dr. George Gey. A scientist for the John Hopkins University Tissue Culture Laboratory, Gey propagated Lacks’ tissue sample into an immortal cell line – the HeLa cell line . The cells from Lacks’ tumour have an active version of the telomerase enzyme (telomerase is the mechanism by which cells age or are aged) and proliferate abnormally fast. On the day of Henrietta Lacks’ death, Dr. Gey announced to the world that a new age in medical research had begun – one that might provide a cure for cancer. HeLa cells were utilized in 1954 by Jonas Salk to develop the cure for polio. Since then they’ve been used in researching cancer, AIDS, the effects of radiation and toxic substances, and for mapping genes, among other things. Today, the HeLa cells are so common in laboratories that they contaminate many other cell cultures and have rendered some biological studies invalid through their presence. There are also more HeLa cells alive today than when Henrietta Lacks was alive – they outweigh her physical mass by many times. Tragically, Lacks was never told of the immensely valuable contribution her cells made to science and her family was not informed until many years later that her cells were being used for research purposes. These immortal cells have multiplied to the point that if you were to weigh all of them that live today, they'd weigh about 50 million metric tons, which is about as much as 100 Empire State builidings.

Here is something funny i happened to read and couple of interesting facts.

Here is something funny i happened to read and couple of interesting facts.

When the English settlers landed in Australia , they noticed a strange animal that jumped extremely high and far. They asked the aboriginal people using body language and signs trying to ask them about this animal. They responded with ''Kan Ghu Ru'' the English then adopted the word kangaroo. What the aboriginal people were really trying to say was
''we don't understand you'', '' Kan Ghu Ru".

On the Australian coat of arms the Emu and the Kangaroo were selected as symbols of Australia to represent the country progress because they are always moving forward and never move backwards.

A male kangaroo is called a buck. It is also commonly called a "boomer" or an "old man". A female kangaroo is called a doe, or a flyer. A baby kangaroo is called a joey.

TRY THIS !!!I don't think anyone can do it.

TRY THIS !!!I don't think anyone can do it.

Remember trying this during our school days.Just thought to remind once again for fun and it will be a good exercise too....

Lift your right foot a few inches from the floor and then begin to move it in a clockwise direction. While you’re doing this, use a finger your right index finger to draw a number 6 in the air. Your foot will turn in an anticlockwise direction and there’s nothing you can do about it!

The left side of your brain, which controls the right side of your body, is responsible for rhythm and timing. The left side of your brain cannot deal with operating two opposite movements at the same time and so it combines them into a single motion.

Try this with your right foot and left hand and you should have no problem!

Lineage of Jesus Christ from Adam - Photograph of a dome depicting it and their names starting from Adam.

This photograph is of the South dome of inner narthex at Chora Church, Istanbul and depicts the ancestors of Christ from Adam onwards.

There are 2 records in the Bible of the genealogy of Jesus Christ. One is in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 1 that traces the line of descent from Abraham to Jesus, the other is in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 3 which follows the ancestry from Adam to Jesus.

According to Mathew - Thus there were 14 generations in all from Abraham to David, 14 from David to the exile to Babylon, and 14 from the exile to the Christ, thus a total of 42 generations from Abraham.

The count of generations in Luke is 77, a remarkable number symbolizing the forgiveness of all sins and they are as follows starting from Adam

Our Tribute to Steve Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011),the Legend,the visionary, the inspiration .
Few More Facts - Part B

The Reality Distortion Field

It was Apple's engineer Burrell Smith who coined the term "Reality Distortion Field." The reason behind the term was to explain Jobs' charismatic nature and his ability to convince his listeners. Smith used the term in the context of working with Jobs, but it is now extensively used to portray his charming personality, in general, especially on stage.

"We", Not "I"

Another significant thing about Jobs' public performance and interviews was his use of the pronoun "we." Almost every time Jobs spoke, he never said "I", but he means "I" using a "We." During an interview at D5, Walt Mossberg curiously asked him, "who's 'we'?" Jobs replied, "Well, ME!" His biological sister Mona Simpson wrote in her novel about her brother that this habit of Jobs was true in private conversation also.

He Thought of Becoming a Monk

In his youth, Jobs studied Zen Buddhism. He used to say that he wanted to become a monk in a monastery in Japan instead of starting Apple. But his guru Kobun Chino Otogowa later made him think otherwise.

Photography

Jobs loved photography. For a long time, he decorated his home only with big black-and-white photographs of cultural icons like Einstein, or the California landscape, mostly taken by Ansel Adams. He also put Adams prints in his NeXT office.

Our Tribute to Steve Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011),the Legend,the visionary, the inspiration .
Few Facts - Part A

Apple's tribute:

"Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple."

The Inspiration for Many Got Inspired by Many

Jobs is undoubtedly a source of inspiration for many people who dream and want to experience their dreams. But the gadget wizard himself got inspired by a few people and father figures. He always praised folk singer Bob Dylan. He played his music and sang his songs all day in his youth.

Another inspiration was Kobun Chino Otogowa, NeXT's official spiritual adviser. In 1970s, he was Jobs' zen guru from the Los Altos Zen Center. Otogowa was the one credited for convincing Jobs to start Apple rather than becoming a Zen vicar.

Other names that served as sources of inspiration for Jobs included American photographer Ansel Adams, Sony co-founder Akio Morita, inventor/entrepreneur, Thomas Edison, American industrialist Henry Ford, and the founder of Atari and Jobs' first (and only) employer, Nolan Bushnell.

Photographic coincidence

Photographic coincidence -

A German mother who photographed her infant son in 1914 left the film to be developed at a store in Strasbourg. In those days some film plates were sold individually. World War I broke out and unable to return to Strasbourg, the woman gave up the picture for lost. Two years later she bought a film plate in Frankfurt, over 100 miles away, to take a picture of her newborn daughter. When developed the film turned out to be a double exposure, with the picture of her daughter superimposed on the earlier picture of her son. Through some incredible twist of fate, her original film, never developed, had been mislabeled as unused, and had eventually been resold to her.

The Edison Test

The Edison Test -
Edison created a test for employees to measure their ability to memorize a substantial amount of information. He believed that employees who passed the test would be able to make quick business decisions for his company.
Ironically, both Edison’s son, who was a gifted student at MIT, and Albert Einstein failed the exam. Here is the link to the Test.Take the test and find out how many of them you can answer without the help of Google and have fun -

THE POWER OF A HUG

THE POWER OF A HUG

This picture is from an article called "The Rescuing Hug". The article details the first week of life of a set of twins. Each were in their respective incubators and one was not expected to live. A hospital nurse fought against the hospital rules and placed the babies in one incubator. When they were placed together, the healthier of the two, threw an arm over her sister in an endearing embrace. The smaller baby's heart stabilized and temperature rose to normal. And now they're both healthy 15 year-old teens.

Let us not forget to embrace those whom we love.

A different kind of an artwork titled Last Supper Gaza - Symbolic

In Vivek Vilasini’s photographic artwork the disciples in Leonardo da Vinci’s 15th-century painting are supplanted by young, burqa-clad women.

Only their eyes can be seen, vivid expressions ranging from fury to despair. The carefully staged scene shows the women mimicking the original postures, down to the positioning of hands ...on the table and the simple white tablecloth. But, by translating the image into the present, the composition takes on a new, charged meaning.

Vilasini, an Indian artist living in Bangalore, made the work in 2008 (one of an edition of nine). It went on sale in a Christie’s auction of contemporary Indian art in London on 10 June 2009, valued at between £15,000 and £20,000.

Gold Vending machines

Gold Vending machines - World's first and China's first,Coming soon to India too!!!!!

The world’s first gold vending machine was unveiled in Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi on May 13 and the machine itself is 24 carat gold-plated.
...
The “Gold To Go” machine gives out one, five and 10 gram gold bars as well as gold coins and is the creation of a German company and gives an instant display of gold rates.
The machine itself is linked to a computer which updates the price every ten minutes depending on the current market price of gold.

Gold vending machines currently exist in Britain, the United States, the Middle East and Gold vending ATMs may become a reality in India too soon !!!!!

Chinese consumer demand for gold soared 27 per cent year-on-year to 579.5 tonnes in 2010, according to the World Gold Council.

A Strange fact..

Can't say interesting...But a strange fact.Jeremy Bentham, a British philosopher who died in 1832,left his entire estate to the London Hospital provided that his body be allowed to preside over its board meetings. His skeleton was clothed and fitted with a wax mask of his face. It was present at the meeting for 92 years.

Hand of Hope

Hand of Hope - 21 Week, Unborn Baby Holds Doctor’s hand, a miracle - This is one of the most touching post i have read. Please note: the picture on LHS may not be suitable for everyone.

When surgeon Joseph Bruner went in to do surgery on 21 week old unborn baby named Samuel Alexander Armas, after he was diagnosed with Spina Bifida, he had no idea what was about to happen. During the procedure, the... doctor removed the uterus, via C-section, then he made a small incision in the mother’s womb so he could operate on little Samuel.

What happened next left everyone who witnessed it speechless…

…Little Samuel Alexander Armas, reached out of the small incision, and took hold of Dr. Bruner’s finger. For a moment, no one moved. They all just stared at this little hand grasping the Dr.’s finger. The doctor was later quoted saying, “it was the most emotional moment of my life.”

The picture was taken on August 19, 1999 by photographer Michael Clancy, who named the photo “Hand of Hope.” Samuel’s mother said after seeing the picture for the first time, she wept. Little Samuel was born in perfect health. The operation was 100% successful.

The Hand of Hope picture was printed in USA today on Sept. 7, 1999. It quickly spread across the globe as proof of development in the womb. It was even used to help pass the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act in 2000.

It is simply about a miracle. A 21 week old miracle. On RHS is little Samuel, growing up.

Mysteriously the life and the death of John Paul II are both strongly marked by the number 13! …

Mysteriously the life and the death of John Paul II are both strongly marked by the number 13! …

First, the date of his death corresponds exactly to the numerical code 13:
Death on April 2nd, 2005 or 04/02/2005 ⇒ 4 + 2 + 2 + 5 = 13
...
Even the precise hour of its death wears the mark 13:
Death arisen at 9:37 pm or , 21h 37 , the Vatican time ⇒ 2 + 1 + 3 + 7 = 13
• Year week at its death : 13th week of year 2005 (Death arisen at the start of April)
• Age at death 85 years (1920-2005) ⇒ 8 + 5 = 13
• His successor Benedict XVI (Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger) is the 265th Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church
265 ⇒ 2 + 6 + 5 = 13
• Week day of the appearances at Fatima of Mary: always the 13th of the month
• Karol Józef Wojtyla (Pope John Paul II) was born on May 18, 1920 :
• 05/18/1920 ⇒ 5 + 1 + 8 + 1 + 9 + 2 = 26 = 13 x 2
• In the numerology Starter 13, that is A=13, B=14, C=15, ... , Y=37, Z=38, we have:
Karol Józef Wojtyla = 429 = 13 x 33
John Paul II = 193 + 2 = 195 = 13 x 15
• His mother died on April 13th, 1929 .
• October 13, 1946 Karol Wojtyla became Sub-diaconate
• On January 13, 1964, he was nominated Archbishop of Cracow by Pope Paul VI, who made him a cardinal June 26 [13 x 2], 1967 .
• Elected Pope on October 16, 1978 , at the age of 58 years ⇒ 5 + 8 = 13
• John Paul II was first non-Roman Pope since 455 years ⇒ 455 = 35 x 13
• The attempt against the Pope Jean-Paul II took place on May 13th, 1981 , at the place Saint Pierre.
• The young turk Mehmet Alì Agca who made an attempt on the Pope's life has 13 letters in his full name.
• His pontificate lasted 26 years, that is 13 x 2.
• He leaves behind him 117 cardinals-voters who will have to choose his successor by two-thirds majority; 117 = 9 x 13
• On April 4th, 2005, was held the very first meeting of the cardinals after the death of the Pope; the number of cardinals present in this important session was 65, that is 5 x 13.
• Cardinals have fixed to April 18 the starting date of the Conclave for election of the new pope, at the Sistine Chapel (13 letters); April 18 or 04/18 ⇒ 4 + 1 + 8 = 13
• The election of the new Pope Benedict XVI (born Jozef Ratzinger on April 16, 1927) was announced on April 19, 2005 by:
* White smoke began to pour from the Sistine Chapel's chimney at 5:50 p.m. (Vatican time); but at that time no bells were heard confirming a pope's election, contrary to the planned simultaneous occurence.
5:50 p.m. or 17h 50 ⇒ 1 + 7 + 5 + 0 = 13
* At 6:04 p.m., about 15 minutes after the smoke began to rise out, the bells of the basilica began to peal.
6:04 p.m. or 18h 04 ⇒ 1 + 8 + 0 + 4 = 13
• Benedict XVI, elected at age 78 , is the oldest cardinal to become pope since Clement XII in 1730, who, like Ratzinger, was elected at age 78.
78 = 13 x 6
At the time of the 2005 Conclave, Ratzinger was one of only 14 remaining cardinals appointed by Paul VI, and one of only three of those under the age of 80 and thus eligible to participate in that conclave.
• In the basic ordinal numerology (A=1, B=2, C=3, ... , Y=25, Z=26):
Benedict = 62 and Benedict XVI = 62 + 16 = 78 = 13 x 6
French Benoît = 65 = 13 x 5
• Besides, in Starter 13 alphanumeric encoding (A=13, B=14, C=15, ... , Y=37, Z=38):
Josephum Ratzinger = 429 = 13 x 33 (Josephum is Latin for Joseph)
• Ratzinger was appointed Archbishop of Munich on May 28, 1977, and he was subsequently made a Cardinal by Pope Paul VI on June 27, 1977.
* May 28, 1977 or 05/28/1977 ⇒ 5 + 2 + 8 + 1 + 9 + 7 + 7 = 39 = 13 x 3
* June 27, 1977 or 06/27/1977 ⇒ 6 + 2 + 7 + 1 + 9 + 7 + 7 = 39 = 13 x 3
• His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI is the first German pontiff since 949 years; the last German pope being Victor II (born Gebhard, Count of Calw, pope from 1055 to 1057).
949 = 13 x 73
• Before his first appearance at the balcony of Saint Peter's Basilica after becoming pope, he was announced by the Cardinal Medina Estévez, protodeacon of the College of Cardinals.
Medina Estévez = 13 letters
• On Friday 13th May 2005, speaking in Latin at the basilica of St John Lateran, Pope Benedict XVI announced that the rule of waiting five years after a potential saint's death before the initial process of beatification can start was to be waived in the case of his predecessor John Paul II [see Benedict XVI paves way for John Paul to be made a saint, by Peter Popham in The Independent News Paper and Vatican, Pope'speech to the Clergy of Rome (May 13, 2005), DISCORSO DI SUA SANTITÀ BENEDETTO XVI AL CLERO DI ROMA ]. Pope Benedict's decision to accelerate the process for beatifying Karol Wojtyla came on the 24th anniversary of the attempted assassination of John Paul II by Mehmet Alì Agca, which also happens to be the saint's day of the Madonna of Fatima, whose devotion was close to the late pontiff's heart.
