"Boulevard du Temple",

"Boulevard du Temple", taken by Daguerre in 1838 in Paris, was the first photograph of a person ever taken. The first photograph to ever include a human being. In fact a portrait known as Daguerreotypes. Can you spot all the people here?

The image shows a street, but because of the over 10 minute exposure time the moving traffic does not appear. The exceptions are the man and shoe-shine boy at the bottom left, and two people sitting at a table nearby who stood still long enough to have their images captured.

Today 18th Nov happens to be the B'day of Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre who was a French artist and physicist, recognized for his invention of the daguerreotype process of photography.

Daguerreotypes were usually portraits; the rarer views are much sought-after and are more expensive. The portrait process took several minutes and required the subjects to remain stock still.

Invisible Monk -

Invisible Monk -
Spanish monk Saint Vincent Ferrer, who lived from around 1350 to 1419, was a person of great authority at the court of Aragon, partly because of his natural abilities and partly because of the miracles attributed to him.
The king’s wife Queen Yolande was curious to see the inside of the cell where Ferrer lived. When he refused her permission to enter, the queen ordered the door to be forced open. She entered with her entourage, but there was no sign of him. Yet the monks present assured her that he was there – they were amazed that the Queen and her attendants, could not see him as clearly as they did.
A monk asked Ferrer why the Queen could not see him. He replied that he had never allowed any woman to visit his cell. God was punishing the queen for having forced her way in, and she would suffer with partial blindness for as long as she remained there. Humbled, the queen immediately left the cell, apologizing to Ferrer for her intrusion.
Various examples of temporary invisibility are reported in connection with other saints. When a runway took refuge with Saint Lydwina of Schieldam (1380-1433), God made him invisible to his pursuer. And when Saint Lucian of Beauvais, who died in AD 290, went walking in the street, he became selectively wanted to notice him. A similar episode occurred when the king of Naples sent 60 soldiers to arrest Francis of Paola (1416-1507). Knowing that Francis had taken refuge before the altar of the church, the soldiers entered, but even though they touched the holy man, they could not see him.

Amazing Story of a Man Who Survived Being Buried Alive for 40 days - Amazing Power of the Mind

Amazing Story of a Man Who Survived Being Buried Alive for 40 days - Amazing Power of the Mind
According to a fascinating report printed in the London Telegraph in 1880, a man was buried ‘in a condition of apparent death’ for 40 days and survived. No tricks or tomfoolery were involved, so how did he do it?

It’s often the case that when someone professes to be able do something remarkable, that great gift of human nature kicks in – skepticism. So when Maharajah Ranjeet Singh heard from an Indian fakir who claimed he could come back to life after being buried for several months in an apparent state of death, the Maharajah could only reply with one statement – proof or it didn’t happen.

At once, the fakir, named Haridas, was summonsed before the Maharajah – who regarded the idea as possibly fraudulent – to act out exactly how he could accomplish this amazing feat.

In full view of the Maharajah and nobles of the court, within a short time, the fakir appeared comatosed. One of the witnesses at the time, an Honorable Captain Osborn, made his own account of the event:

“When every spark of life had seemingly vanished, he was wrapped up in the linen on which he had been sitting, and on which the seal of Ranjeet Singh was placed. The body was then deposited in a chest, on which Ranjeet Singh, with his own hand, fixed a heavy padlock. The chest was carried outside the town and buried in a garden belonging to the Minister; barley was sown over the spot, a wall created around it, and sentinels posted.”
So was the mistrust of the Maharajah.

After 40 days the fakir was exhumed and the chest opened in the presence of the Maharaja, his court, and the French and English doctors who had been previously present at his interment. His apparently lifeless body was washed with hot water, massaged, and ghee placed on his eyelids and tongue; in a short time, he had recovered.

According to Claude Wade, the British Resident at the Maharaja's court: "From the time of the box being opened to the recovery of the voice, not more than half an hour could have elapsed; and in another half hour, the Fakir talked with myself and those about him freely, though feebly, like a sick person.

When the Fakir recognized Runjeet Singh sitting close to him, articulated in a low sepulchral tone, “Do you believe me now?””
The Secret was meditation and Power of the Mind.

The Maharajah did indeed believe him and presented the fakir with gifts of a pearl necklace, gold bracelets and pieces of silk and muslin, those that are normally reserved for people of distinction.
Power of the Mind....Amazing!!!!!!

LOVELY COINCIDENCE

LOVELY COINCIDENCE

In 1945, there was a young boy of 14 in a concentration camp. He was tall, thin but had a bright smile. Every day, a young girl came by on the other side of the fence. She noticed the boy and asked him if he spoke Polish, and he said yes. She said he'd looked hungry, and he said he was. She then reached in her pocket and gave him her apple. He thanked her and she went on her way. The next day, she came by again, bringing with her another apple which she gave him. Each day, she walked by the outside of the fence, hoping to see him, and when she did, she happily handed him an apple in exchange for conversation.

One day, he told her not to come by anymore. He told her he was being shipped to another concentration camp. As he walked away with tears streaming down his face, he wondered if he'd ever see her again. She was the only kind soul he'd seen across the fence.

He made it out of the concentration camp, and immigrated to America. In 1957, his friends had fixed him up on a blind date. He had no idea who the woman was. He picked her up, and during dinner began talking of Poland and the concentration camp. She said she was in Poland at that time. She said she used to talk to a boy and gave him apples daily. He asked if this boy was tall, skinny and if he had told her that she shouldn't come back because he was leaving. She said yes.

It was her, the young girl who came by every day to give him apples. After 12 years, after the war and in another country.....they had met again. What are the odds? He proposed to her on that very night and told her he'd never again let her go. They are still happily married today.

Moral - Miracles do happen, and there is a greater force at work in our lives.

Color Blind Test -
Are you color blind???If you see a 3 on the left & the number 73 on the right, you're just fine. But if you see a 5 on the left, and just a bunch of spots on the right you may be color blind. Oh No!!!!
These are known as Ishihara charts created by Dr Shinobu Ishihara (September 25, 1879 - January 3, 1963) who was a Japanese ophthalmologist to detect color blindness.

The face of a bearded man literally pops out at you, right?? It's actually very hard to see what is really on this vintage photograph. After a few moments of looking at the man's face, you can see its a simple family photo and a little child with a white bonnet on its father's lap.
It is a 1900s family, a father, mother and child(sitting on pappa’s knee).Holding the photo at arm’s length or greater, you can see the side profile of the face of a bearded, long haired man(Jesus?). the face is center in the photo and is pointing to the left.At the bottom of the photo, the name “DRISCOLL” is on one side and a date of 1934 is on the other.

The Wedding - This is very touching with a powerful and meaningful Message of Hope,Faith, Love and LIFE.

Katie Kirkpatrick, 21, held off cancer to celebrate the happiest day of her life. Katie had chased cancer, once only to have it return-to clog her lungs and grab hold of her heart. Breathing was difficult now, she had to use oxygen. The pain in her back was so intense it broke through the morphine that was supposed to act as a shield. Her organs were shutting down but it would not stop her from marrying Nick Godwin, 23, who was in love with Katie since 11th grade.

In Pic 1 is Katie Kirkpatrick, 21 yrs old and next to her is her fiancé, Nick, 23.This picture was taken prior to their wedding January 11th, 2005.Katie has terminal cancer and spends hours in chemotherapy. Here Nick awaits while she finishes one of the sessions

Even in pain and dealing with her organs shutting down, with the help of morphine,Katie took care of every single part of the wedding planning. Her dress had to be adjusted several times due to Katie 's constant weight loss.

An expected guest was her oxygen tank. Katie had to use it during the ceremony and reception. The other couple in this picture is Nick's parents, very emotional with the wedding and to see their son marrying the girl he fell in love when he was an adolescent. (Pic3)

Katie , in a wheel chair listening to her husband and friends singing to her. (Pic4)

In the middle of the party, Katie had to rest for a bit and catch her breath. The pain does not allow her to stand for long period of time. (Pic5)

5 days later, Katie died. She did not let sickness stop her from living, take away the hope or faith that made her believe she had a future. She had a lovely wedding and she had love and she gave love and love doesn' t die. And that is how Katie beat cancer.

To see a fragile woman dress as a bride with a beautiful smile makes you think..
Happiness is always there within reach, no matter how long it lasts.Lets enjoy life and don't live a complicated life.

Life is too short.
Work as if it was your first day.
Forgive as soon as possible.
Love without boundaries.
Laugh without control
and never stop smiling.
No matter how strange life is,
Life is not always the party we expected to be
but as long as we are here, we should smile and be
grateful to God for the gift of LIFE !
Please pray for those suffering from cancer.
We all have close to our heart.
Keep this going.
Prayers are always answered.

Life is too short to argue and separate. . .
